Divided into three regions–Western (Region VI), Central (Region VII), and Eastern (Region VIII)–the Visayas is home to some of the most populous and urbanized cities in the Philippines. The Visayas is home to various tourist spots, most notably the beaches of Boracay in Panay. Apo Island, Bohol, the Biri Rock Formations in Samar, and Kalanggaman Island are also prime destinations. This is why the sales and service industries are the leading contributors to the entire Visayas GDP.

Other factors to the economic growth in Visayas include the industrial and manufacturing sectors, as well as the construction industry. The BPO industry is also a huge contributor to this growth.
